Sound Consultant LTD "the company"
New Mexico's premier
audiophile listening salon
Sound Consultant originated only 60 miles from Stereophile Magazine's home office and creative center (the hub of high end audio reviewing). Harold Cooper thus was no stranger to the phrase "hot off the audiophile press". Designers such as Michael Green of RoomTune fame enjoyed Sound Consultant as a listening oasis to and from visits with Stereophile's reviewing staff and editors. From Sound Consultant's inception, Harold quickly became a trusted ear.
Building personal listening relationships with high end audio's top designers, hobbyists and representatives, such as Arturo Manzano, Bill Conrad, Peter Qvortrup, Robert Stein, to name a few, is one of Sound Consultant Harold Cooper's greatest strengths and pleasures. Sound Consultant has always focused on the connection between the music, the listener and the audio product's function and performance. Based on his experience in the industry, Harold Cooper understands that considering product reviews is just the beginning of the audiophile quest for musical perfection.
"The Art of matching all the ingredients is what makes each listener master of their own system. That ability to match components and environment has been why serious audiophiles have made Harold one of the hobby's greatest assets."
Sound Consultant is now located in La Crosse, Wisconsin, with satellite listening rooms in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Attention to detail is what makes an audiophile music system great. Finding and maintaining the quality of sound you are looking for is an individual journey, and expert guidance that helps you along your chosen path is priceless. The highly specialized audiophile consultant can be the bridge between the listener and the product design that uniquely fits the listener's needs . A good consultant tests the waters for the end user by carefully listening to components and systems in order to find a wide range of component combinations and tools for the realization of a particular listening objective. Successful system matching is both art and skill, and remains necessary in this hobby as there continue to be so many sound and design variables that require careful consideration toward the goal of achieving one's audio nirvana in a personal music system.
Harold Cooper has developed an unique perspective of the audiophile hobby due to his deep involvement and participation as an insider. Harold's listening closet is a detailed trip down high end audio's memory lane as well as being on the very cutting edge of sound. Much of Harold's time is spent traveling to live concerts, promoting high end audio in general and having an active roll in the audiophile trade shows as both representative and exhibitor.
Harold's listening abilities are often and widely use in many of the showrooms displaying the finest audio throughout the U.S. His relationships within the industry are as deep and vast as his personal listening experiences. Harold is both a high end audio expert and an audiophile, and shares the art of his hobby both as a businessman and hobbyist.
The Sound Consultant is never far from his music. Harold typically brings one of his personal high end systems with him on business and personal trips. The system to the left is a blend of Audolici, Music Hall, Michael Green Audio and RoomTune.
